A friend in Canada

So, I've known that Thomas John and Mary Foster were buried in the Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery, but I didn't have any solid dates for them until now. I called the Blue Mountain city hall, and asked for information about the cemetery. They gave me the phone number for Albert Gibson, the caretaker. I called him up and gave him extremely vague dates to try and find the headstone.

Albert managed to find the headstone of their son, John Gibson Foster and his wife Hattie, as well as their baby girl Hattie. He was unable to make out any more information on the headstone; it was just too old. I was happy to have the information, and I thought that was as far as I could go. And then Mr. Gibson called me on Sunday! He just said, "Do you have a pen because I've got some information for you!!"

He had gone back to the cemetery for another try, and put some emery stone on the gravestone to read it better. This is what he found:
In Memory Of:
Rev. John Foster
Died June 25, 1892
Aged 68 and 8 months.
Native of England.

This puts his birthdate around October 1823. On the side of the tombstone, he found:
Mary Foster
Wife of Rev. John Foster
Aged 87 and (unable to make the # of months out)
Native of England.

I was so excited to hear back from Albert, and so grateful that he took the time to go back to the cemetery for a second try!! John and Mary are my great-great-great-great-grandparents. Pretty cool! Now, we just have to break the England barrier.
